LGBT to celebrate the Summer Solstice Pride in Gananoque and area

A meeting was held with representatives from Travel Gay Canada (TGC), Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual–Transgender (LGBT), community leaders and representatives from a cross section of local businesses on Thursday, May 17 at the Gananoque Inn.  Gananoque is one of three destinations targeted by TGC and with funding support for the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and The Great Waterway. Second Annual Thousand Islands Playhouse Golf Tournament June 14th

On June 14th, 2012, Smuggler's Glen will be the site for the second annual Thousand Islands Playhouse Golf Tournament.  Hosts  for this extremely successful event will be Joe and Lucie Pal, owners of The Ivy Lea Club, Dave and Jane Seal, owners of Smuggler's Glen Golf Course and Doug Wark, Head Golf Pro at SGGC. The inaugural tournament, held in June 2011, raised $100,000. This year's tournament has set $130,000 as a goal.... Read more »

Gananoque in the running for WFN’s Ultimate Fishing Town; Cast your votes by May 31

The time has come for anglers to put down their fishing rods and start casting votes as the polls have officially opened in the search for WFN's Ultimate Fishing Town. A record 750 towns across the U.S. and Canada have been nominated by proud anglers who think their town is the best place to fish. One town from the U.S. and one town from Canada each receiving the most votes will earn a $25,000 community donation to be used towards fishing-related cause(s), plus a tourism boost as WFN: World Fishing Network, North America's only 24/7 fishing channel, produces a feature about fishing in their town and broadcasts it on-air and online throughout the year.... The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Grenville County Detachment are looking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a break and enter to a residence in Edwardsburgh. On May 3, 2012 at approximately 8:00pm, an 18-year-old male returned to his residence on County Road 44. Once inside, he located an unknown adult male inside his room. Out-patient services at BGH not available on holiday Monday

Most out-patient services will not be available at Brockville General Hospital on Monday, May 21st, for the Victoria Day statutory holiday. The Emergency Department will remain open 24 hours as usual, and in-patient services will not be affected. Out-patient services not available on Victoria Day Monday will include: Laboratory Services, Diagnostic Imaging Services, and all clinics and community programs. All hospital departments will resume regular hours on Tuesday, May 22nd.
