The Gananoque Chev Novice Rep team participated in the Cross Border Clash invitational hockey tournament over the Easter weekend in Baltimore Ontario. The team started with a game Friday afternoon winning 5 to 1 against Brighton. Garrett Pratt managed a hat trick along with goals from Owen Ritchie and Austin Cartwright to ensure the win.

Members of the Grenville Fish and Game Club proudly unveiled their new truck on Saturday, March 23 thanks in part to a $25,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark joined the celebration along with OTF representative Natalie Wood to officially congratulate members of the club and the large number of community members who came out to support. The OTF funding supported the purchase of a truck to help haul equipment and boats to continue providing outdoor activities for the community at large. The Home Hardware Peewee Islanders started off their “Second Season” with a bang last Saturday in Wellington vs. the Picton Kings. For the uninitiated, the Second Season is for teams eliminated in round one of the play offs. It has also been not-so-lovingly described as the “toilet bowl.” It doesn’t matter what bowl game the Peewees are in – they are playing for keeps! A plus to this part of the season is the opportunity for first year players to get more ice time and for everyone to experiment a little more with their “signature moves.”
